Picking An Extracurricular Activity: Child’s Or Parent’s Choice?
Posted in: Child health and Parenting
Picking an extracurricular activity should be both the child’s and the parent’s choice to make.

Here are some things to consider:
- Decide whether the activity supports important values. For example, sports help a kid to learn and practice self-discipline, cooperation, perseverance, physical health, etc.
- What are the long-term benefits?
- Consider an extracurricular close to our child’s natural talents or abilities.
- Is your child interested?
- How often does it take place and will the cost affect you?
- Check for safety. How is the environment, equipment, instructor, etc?

Did we miss any point? How did you determine the right extracurricular activity for your child?
