Lluvia Health, in partnership with the Children’s Development Centre, is deepening its work to bring inclusive play opportunities to children across Lagos State — especially children with disabilities. In June and July 2025, we met with key stakeholders in Surulere and Kosofe to introduce our play interventions and explore ways to strengthen awareness and access at the grassroots level.
The meetings drew local government leaders, health officials, community organisations and disability advocates. Together we mapped practical steps: hosting play outreaches in churches, mosques and primary health centres; using Yoruba-language radio to reach more families; and mobilising health workers and community officers to identify and support children with disabilities. Stakeholders also pledged venues, dates and communication channels (including new WhatsApp groups) to keep collaboration active.
These gatherings show the shared commitment of Lagos communities to dismantle stigma and open up play and learning for every child. With their support, our partnership with the Children’s Development Centre is bringing the promise of play closer to home for thousands of children and their families.
